Health Council named

The 2008 members of Bermuda Health Council were named yesterday.Chairman Linda Merritt said the council — a quango set up by Government to regulate, coordinate and enhance the provision of health services to Bermuda — included representatives from across the health services spectrum.Lucille Parker, deputy chairman and the representative for nurses, and D. Mark Selley, representing the general community, remain on the council.

The 2008 members of Bermuda Health Council were named yesterday.

Chairman Linda Merritt said the council — a quango set up by Government to regulate, coordinate and enhance the provision of health services to Bermuda — included representatives from across the health services spectrum.

Lucille Parker, deputy chairman and the representative for nurses, and D. Mark Selley, representing the general community, remain on the council.

They are joined by: Dr. Jewel Landy, Stephanie Simons, Shirlene Dill, Cindy Campbell, Dr. Gerard Bean, Dr. Burton Butterfield, Dr. John Gaugain and David Hill.

Ex-officio members are Health Permanent Secretary Warren Jones, Chief Medical Officer Dr. John Cann, Finance Secretary Donald Scott and Bermuda Health Council chief executive officer Anthony Richardson.
