Double delight for jumper Arantxa

Bermuda’s overseas track and field athletes enjoyed a successful weekend with four competitors claiming victories in the University Conference Championships.Competing at the MPSF Conference Championship, Arantxa King helped Stanford win the indoor title, claiming victories in both the long jump (6.36 metres) and triple jump (12.88m).In the SEC Championships, Aaron Evans triumphed in the 800m in a time of 1.48.22, Latroya Darrell placed fourth in the in triple jump (12.71m) and Allison Outerbridge finished 19th in the triple jump in 11.86m.Jasmine Brunson won the triple jump at the ACC Championships, setting a national record of 13.19m.Brunson also placed fourth in the long jump (6.01m) to help her Clemson team to the ACC Indoor Championship title for the third successive year.At the Gibson Relays in Jamaica, Juma Mouchette set a personal best in the mile (four minutes 27 seconds), placing tenth overall.Meanwhile, four more athletes reached the Carifta Games qualifying standard during the Telford Mile event.Kyle Webb qualified in the Under-20 boys 200m (21.97m), Dage Minors in the Under-20 boys 1500m (4.10.51), Shuntae Hendrickson in the Under-20 girls (1500m 5.04.61) and Quinine Outerbridge in the Under-17 girls 1500m (5.10.12).
