Entrepreneur bets on take-out dine-in service
Island residents can now enjoy their favourite dishes from Hamilton restaurants without leaving their home following the opening of the Fine Dine-In delivery service which has started satisfying appetites from Grotto Bay to Gibbs Hill.
Bermudian Lawrence Fox is the owner of the new service and said: "I think that Bermudians are really looking forward to being able to get food delivered to their homes, offices or docks from such a wide range of wonderful restaurants.
"This kind of service will be a great convenience for busy families or couples, employees working late or quiet nights at home.
"It will also appeal to tourists wanting to spend a quiet night in their room but craving something different."
Initially, Fine Dine-In will offer delivery from The Robin Hood, Le Figaro, House of India, Omakase Sushi, M.R. Onions, Monte Carlo, Coconut Rock, Sung Sing and East Meets West with more restaurants expected to be included.
Mr. Fox says he feels a service like this is long overdue for Bermuda given the Island's upscale, progressive, sophisticated population, yet he insists Fine Dine-In should not be seen as only catering to the wealthy segment of Bermuda.
Instead it offers both moderately priced restaurants as well as those at the higher end of the spectrum.
Fine Dine-In's delivery area extends east to Grotto Bay and includes all areas west to Gibbs Hill Lighthouse. Orders can be made from 5.30 p.m. until 10.30 p.m. Sundays to Thursdays and until 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday nights.
Delivery will cost $6 per restaurant and should be delivered to your door within 45 minutes.
"Food quality is our number one priority," says Mr. Fox, who added: "I am very pleased to be able to offer Bermudians a service this convenient and easy to use.
"I am confident that Fine Dine-In will become just like ATM machines, a service that people can't imagine doing without."
To help customers decide on which restaurant they would like to order from, Fine Dine-In will publish a free menu guide every six months listing the participating restaurants and their menus, instructions on how the service works, a map of the delivery area and a list of available beverages and cigarettes.
The menu guides will be available at local businesses, participating restaurants, hotel concierge desks and other locations or you can visit www.finedine-in.com or call the delivery service at 295-9998.
