Village set for another victory
North Village v Robin HoodAlready in the final of the first major cup competition, Village won’t be resting on their laurels heading into this home fixture with Robin Hood.With a game in hand and very much in control of the league, the defending champions will take this opportunity to strengthen their position at the top of the table.Their visitors have had a mixed bag of fortunes in their opening matches but are in the middle of the pack and are looking comfortable int the top flight.However, it may be too much to ask to get something out of this one, but a good showing could bode well for the future.Prediction: Village 3-0Boulevard v Somerset TrojansBoulevard have shown they will be ready for every match this year and have put in some battle-hardened displays early on.Ajani Gibbons is marshalling the side with his usual calm, composed nature while the goals are coming for different players, something that could be a good sign of things to come when they can string a few results together.Somerset are coming off an impressive, albeit sluggish, win over St David’s last weekend and will be looking to get another three poitns under their belt as they travel to BAA.The determining factor will be the wing play of both sides and whoever can get up and down the flanks with success will win this match.Prediction: Boulevard 2-1PHC v Dandy TownThe game of the weekend will see two of the top four battle it out to keep pace at the head of the table.Town, coming off a good win over Southampton Rangers midweek, have Raymond Beach and Heys Wolfe firing on all cylinders, a worrying signs for all teams.It may not be all doom and gloom for Zebras, however, as they have Antwan Russell and Aquino Grant who are coming into their own.Look for Jamel Swan to assert himself early on in the match and set the tone for side.Prediction: Town 3-2St David’s v Southampton RangersThe hosts will feel hard done by from their last match against Somerset and will look to right the wrongs from the past in this home game against Rangers.With points and little confidence at the moment, the side must pick themselves up if they are to start making up ground to keep pace with those around them.Rangers, coming off a hard fought loss midweek, will be chomping at the bit to get back to winning ways and continue their league form.While still licking their wounds from their previous game, this will be the perfect time to get back on track and regain their confidence.Prediction: Rangers 2-0St George’s v Devonshire CougarsThis is always a highly entertainnig fixture that could swing any way.Colts have had mixed results so far this year and will do well to make sure they aren’t on the losing end of this clash, particularly with how the Big Cats have fared thus far.Cougars haven’t played badly and apart from their games against Village have looked good in most phases.The big question is will they be fully focused on the match or still have their minds on their recent loss in their semi-final match a few days ago.Prediction: 1-1
