The Royal Gazette/BSX Index was closed yesterday due to the Labour Day holiday. It finished last week down 7.01 points (0.57 per cent) at 1,217.93.

A total of 26,632 shares, valued at $151,968, traded during the week. Ascendant Group improved by 20 cents (4 per cent) to close at $5.20 after 8,800 shares were exchanged.

Shares of Butterfield Bank lost two cents in value (1.1 per cent) to close at $1.77 after 11,432 were traded, while BF&M shares were down one cent (0.01 per cent) at $16.98 after 4,700 were exchanged.

The BSX Insurance Index ended the week up 20.94 points (1.34 per cent) at 1,537.84.
