Physiotherapists to hold first Island conference
America and the Caribbean.
The annual meeting of the World Confederation of Physiotherapists for this region will be held at the Hamilton Princess on Monday and Tuesday. This is the first time the meeting has been held in Bermuda.
Physiotherapy association presidents from the US, Canada, Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago, St. Lucia, Curacao, Suriname, Panama, Barbados, Guyana, Guatemala, Bahamas, Caymans, Mexico and Puerto Rico are expected to attend.
There are 24 members of Bermuda's Association and in addition to attending the meeting, they will be participating in a post-graduate educational course this weekend.
A Canadian specialists is flying to Bermuda to deliver the course.
"The Caribbean islands have looked toward our association as a role model of a small yet successful and active professional association,'' said Mary McCabe, the local chairman, in a press release. "We have given guidance to the smaller islands that are trying to develop professional organisations in their own countries.'' HEALTH HTH
