Road disruption

Traffic delays are expected along Cavendish Road, Pembroke, as Belco undertakes emergency excavation work.

Repairs to a high-voltage underground transmission cable are scheduled for two days, a spokesperson said.

Traffic lights will be placed between Hibiscus Lane and at the top of Lane Hill while the work is carried out.

Motorists are urged to use other routes. Belco thanked motorists for their cooperation.

Post offices to close

Post offices are to close at 2 p.m. today for a staff meeting.

The General Post Office and all sub post offices are to be affected.

The Ministry of Works and Engineering, which is located in the General Post Office building on Church Street, will remain accessible despite the closure.

Postmaster General George Outerbridge apologised for the inconvenience.
