Trio charged with home invasion denied bail

Five young people charged in connection to a home invasion remained in custody, despite applications for bail by three of the defendants.Tyrone Pedro, 21, Jasmin Smith, 19, Shayne James, 18 and Terrence Christopher, 21, were each charged earlier this week with aggravated robbery and using an imitation firearm to commit the offence of aggravated robbery.Ms Smith, along with 19-year-old Dwayne Brangman, were charged with handling goods stolen in the robbery, which occurred on April 2 in Devonshire.Mr Christopher, represented by Charles Richardson, Mr James, represented by Elizabeth Christopher and Mr Brangman, represented by Leo Mills, each submitted bail arguments on Thursday in Magistrates’ Court, but after deliberation Magistrate Juan Wolffe denied all three bail.Ms Smith and Mr Pedro, who are represented by Ms Christopher and Daunte Williams respectively, have not made bail applications and remain on remand.The matter is expected to return to court in two weeks for mention.
