Christmas trade show designed to spark buying on Island

Consumers short on time can see a wide-variety of what is available in Bermuda in one place this coming Sunday.

Anthony Peets has organised this weekend's Showcase 2001, a Christmas Trade Show.

Mr. Peets said this is the first time that he has staged a Christmas trade show and said the Buy Bermuda campaign spurred him in to organising the event.

Mr. Peets said more than 20 vendors will be taking part in the showcase, which will be held at the Number One Shed from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Speaking of the show's highlights, Mr. Peets said the new Xbox will be on display, as well as the Playstation 2, home theatre systems and the latest in cellular phone technology.

He added that a Peugeot 2002 model car will also be on site.

There will also be a selection of bicycles - from Wilson Cycles - including pedal cycles, tricycles and mountain bikes on display.

And a new lingerie store, Raves, will be showing its merchandise.

Mr. Peets added that the latest hairdressing and beauty supplies will also be featured at the trade show.

Mr. Peets said the showcase is a family event with food stalls, and weather permitting, a fun castle and go cart track will be put up.

Consumers will be able to place Christmas orders with participating vendors.
