Its all about cosmic nights, say the organisers of what is being hailed as one of the hottest summer sets of the season.

The Cosmic Summer event takes place on Saturday evening in the upper area of Bootsie?s Comedy Club, on Front Street.

?The universe has aligned itself to bring you the hottest musicians and DJs, and the best vibe of the year,? said Andy Smith, one of the Calisthenics Productions organisers.

?The night will feature lots of dancing, sweating and fun. And the music will swing from funk, reggae, dub, hip hop, house, dancehall, old skool, new skool to summer skool ? we?re gonna bring it all.

?It should be a good time for anyone to meet people that they would otherwise not see and it should be a positive vibe.

?The club was renovated when it re-opened, and the upstairs is a prime piece of dance floor real estate.?

Amongst others, the line up will feature a live performance of 1Undread, a local group who recently released a CD, which is on sale in Music Box and Music World. Mr. Smith said the group plays ?trip-hop breakbeat grime with vocals and a bag of chips?.

?The Dirkistan Freedom Fighters will also be there and if you haven?t vibed with this DJ tagteam then you don?t know what you?re missing and if you have, you know you don?t want to miss them ever again,? he said.

?They play everything from A to Z, but not Abba or the pan piper Zamfir. But you can be assured they?ll keep your feet moving.

?There is also DJ iPod with a playlist downloaded from www.ShakeYoBootay.com. He will be joining us in a rare non-techno set, and will instead be playing hip hop, dancehall, pop and funk. Nici P is the original mistress of the one?s and two?s and she joins us for an eclectic mix of groovy beats. Aside from that we also have andyschnerg for those of you who are into house and techno.?
