OJ Pitcher named MVP
OJ Pitcher was named the Premier Division's most valuable player, and PHC's Clevie Wade picked up the coach of the year award at Bermuda Cricket Board's annual awards on Saturday night.
Wade led PHC to their first Belco Cup win, saw them go undefeated in the Western Counties, and guided them to third in the table in their first season back in the top-flight.
Meanwhile St David's batsman Pitcher, scored 332 runs in eight innings, finishing with a batting average of 55.33, he was also the most economical bowler in the Premier Division, taking 16 wickets at 10.50 apiece.
The other top batting prizes went to Jason Anderson, who was the Island's most prolific batsman, ending the season with 418 runs in 11 innings. Irving Romaine picked the prize for top average, 58.25.
In the First Division, Rodney Trott picked up the batting prize, and was named MVP, after he guided Social Club side back to the top flight at the first time of asking. Team-mate Jeffrey Tyrell had the best bowling average, while St George's bowler Rudell Pitcher took the most wickets, finishing with 30 from the season. Other awards went to Quinton Burch, who was the Premier Division's leading wicket-taker, with Donnie Charles taking the award for scoring the most runs in the First Division.
Somerset spinner Joshua Gilbert meanwhile picked up the Young Player of the Year award, while Oscar Andrade was named umpire of the year, and Western Stars' Ray Butterfield was named groundsman of the year.
Warwick also picked up the Spirit of Cricket Award for their continued participation, despite another difficult season.
