Government confirmed that second readings of Fisheries Amendment Act and the Endangered Animals and Plants Act, giving endangered species greater legal protection, will take place.

A resolution to approve the sale of the leasehold interest in 11 cottages at Southside, for a term of 120 years, is also on the agenda.

In March, the UBP Opposition voiced concerns over the cottages which they say have been sitting empty for more than eight months on Tommy Fox Road.

At the end of February, The Bermuda Land Development Company indicated it was set to begin selling the 11 three-bedroom cottages within a fortnight.

Prices have previously been touted in the $750,000 or $810,000 price range, with the 11 cottage expected to be in the $1 million price-range.

Sources said that more than 100 people had been interested in buying the renovated ex-service homes. Profits were to be used to fund further capital projects.
