Company offers one-stop shop for foreign firms
Businesses wanting to move to Bermuda will now be able to get a one-stop shop for their home and office space needs at an Island company.
Coldwell Banker J.W. Bermuda Realty is now offering foreign companies the service through its affiliates in the United States, Europe and around the world.
Simply by walking into any Coldwell Banker affiliate office or logging onto their Websites, customers looking to set up shop on the Island will be able to get advice and information on rentals and properties up for sale.
"The advance in information technology has changed the way we work.'' said Arthur Jones, director of the real estate company. "Now we can share information around the world at the click of a button.'' International businesses thinking about setting up in Bermuda often have difficulties in finding suitable offices and accommodation for their staff, and can need help in the local market.
And it is this need that Coldwell Banker J.W. Bermuda Realty is hoping to address.
"If you are in New York and want to see what is on offer in Bermuda, then one of Coldwell Banker's agents will be able to help you,'' Mr. Jones said.
And the reverse is also true. Bermudians or residents who are moving off the Island and need to find accommodation quickly abroad while still in Bermuda, can do so through Coldwell Banker.
"We are finding that with globalisation, people are moving jobs around the world much more frequently. And because of the electronic age, they expect to be able to get much more information more quickly. The Internet is allowing us to open up doors that have previously been closed and offer more to our clients.'' Due to this new technology, prospective clients will soon be able to look at the properties in 3D as more and more homes are digitally photographed and put into a programme which allows you to "view'' the property in a different way.
It will allow the buyer to "virtually'' walk through the house from room to room, taking a 360 degree turn in the room. New software even allows clients to walk out onto balconies and look at panoramic views.
The mega-Bermuda realtor was formed in October last year when two of Bermuda's top property agents joined forces to create the largest single company on the Island. Jones Waddington Ltd and Bermuda Realty merged to form Coldwell Banker Jones Waddington Bermuda Realty.
The huge staff of 53 moved lock stock and barrel from their offices in Meridian House on Brunswick Street and Gutteridge Building in Bermudiana Road.
Atlantic House has 5,000 square feet and has been completely refurbished.
The company will provide a full range of services from land survey and valuation to the sale, rental and management of both commercial and residential property.
