Students set a $10,000 target for earthquake relief

Berkeley Institute students and staff are working hard to reach their goal of raising $10,000 in ten days for Haiti.

Students and staff will be at strategic locations around the Island soliciting donations for the earthquake devastated country for the next ten days.

Reading educator Ayesha Vickers-Brown, who, in the past went to Haiti on a church mission trip, is organising the school-wide fundraising effort.

Ms Vickers-Brown said: "If each Berkeley student is able to raise $20 we will be way over our quota."

She added that all of the funds raised will be given to the Angel Wings Charity and the Cornerstone Foundation.

Angel Wings is a US based charity that helps connect doctors and medical professionals with needy people around the world.

The Cornerstone foundation is a local charity that recently helped send local doctors to Haiti.
