Thief went on spree with card
A 21-year-old woman apologised in court yesterday after admitting stealing a bank card and using it to buy jewellery.
Alea Dill, of Alexander Road, Devonshire, took the Bank of Bermuda EasyLink card after a customer forgot to pick it up after paying for shopping in the MarketPlace in Hamilton, on February 14.
She then took it to Link to Link jewellery store, in Flatts and used it to buy $45 worth of goods.
She pleaded guilty to theft and using the stolen card to obtain goods at Magistrates? Court. Dill, who had no previous convictions, said: ?I paid the money back and I?m sorry for what I did.?
Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner bailed Dill and adjourned the case until April 13 for a social inquiry report to be carried out.
Speeder banned
A motorcyclist clocked by Police doing 82 kph was banned from riding bikes for a year at Magistrates? Court yesterday.
Kumondi Gibbons, 23, of Harlem Heights Road, Hamilton Parish, pleaded guilty to two counts of speeding on January 2 ? first at 58 kph and then 82 kph on North Shore Road.
Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner disqualified him from riding a motorcycle for 12 months and fined him $500.
Burglas steals beer
A boozy burglar stole two six-packs of beer and four bottles of wine from a Keith Hall Lane, Warwick home on Wednesday.
That same day a burglar stole jewellery after breaking into a Middle Road, Paget, home while a gold watch and $20 of coins was swiped from an Elliot Street, Pembroke residence.
And a burglar broke into Henry VIII Restaurant, Southampton overnight on Thursday and stole five boxes of whole lobster and five boxes of lobster tail.
Man denies theft
A man denied stealing hotdogs and juice from a Pembroke horse stable when he appeared at Magistrates? Court yesterday.
McNeil Wilson, 36, of Middle Road, Southampton, is alleged to have committed the breaking and entering offence at a property called The Stables on January 15.
He opted to stand trial at Magistrates? Court and his case was adjourned until May 26. He was bailed in the sum of $2,000.
