Making a good impression in the work-place is very important, young girls are finding out. Girls between the ages of 12 and 18 received lessons on etiquette and communication skills as part of a style and Fashion programme.

The programme is apart of Finesse Productions, which was founded in 1998 by Terrylynn Doyle. Sessions have been taking place on Saturdays throughout March.

Adrienne Cobbs, who has more than 15 years of human resource experience, was brought in to hold the lectures.

Ms Cobbs works for Performance Solutions - one of Bermuda’s leading Human Resource consultants. She said: “My goal in volunteering my time with this wonderful organisation is to give young women the confidence they need to go after their dreams.”

Preparing good resumes, interview skills and appropriate dress for a job interview is also taught.

About 40 girls between the ages of eight and 18 are enrolled in similar courses, which offer training year-round.
