Sarbanes-Oxley is focus of meeting
The Sarbanes-Oxley Act will be in the spotlight when the Information Systems Audit and Control Association continues its monthly meeting series on May 22 from 12.15 p.m. to 1.15 p.m.
Werner deBruin of PricewaterhouseCoopers will focus mainly on Section 604 of the legislation and the extent to which IT controls are required to be established, maintained and assessed by management.
In the wake of the dot-com bust and accounting scandals, the US government stepped in with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act to protect investors.
Mr. deBruin leads the global risk management solutions practice at PwC and prepared clients for Sarbanes-Oxley last year.
Anyone wishing to attend should contact Anthony Hownam-Meek at 298-4664 or John Mayor at 298-4660. The meeting takes place at PwC's training room at Dorchester House on Church Street.
