Trevor Moniz , a rookie United Bermuda Party MP, was married on Wednesday to teacher Ms Yola Ciechanowska.

Health and Social Services Minister the Hon. Quinton Edness was the first to wish Mr. Moniz "every success and much happiness in the future''. Many other MPs on both sides of the House followed suit.

Other congratulations and condolences included: Works and Engineering Minister the Hon. Leonard Gibbons asked that condolences be sent to the family of Mr. K.T. Jay Outerbridge of Smith's, who died recently.

Mr. Reginald Burrows asked that condolences be sent to the family of former Police officer and taxi driver Mr. Webster (Arnold) Smith, who was a PLP candidate in the 1968 general election. Condolences should also be sent to the family of Mr. Leslie Scott, who was also a taxi driver and the uncle of MPs Mr. Alex Scott and Mr. Stanley Lowe .

Mr. Burrows also congratulated Chief Justice the Hon. Mr. Justice Ward, recently named to that post.

Ms Jennifer Smith congratulated the Coalition for the Protection of Children for offering conflict mediation workshops to the schools and the Bermuda Union of Teachers, which recently dropped the word "Amalgamated'' from its name.

She further congratulated several teachers who retired recently.

Human Affairs Minister the Hon. Jerome Dill congratulated the Youth to Youth organisation which opened its conference this week.

Mr. Stanley Morton sent condolences to the family of Mr. Howard Junior Flood, who served 30 years as a firefighter and recently died leaving six children.

Tourism Minister the Hon. C.V. (Jim) Woolridge congratulated Mrs. Esther Tucker, who has served Sonesta Beach Hotel for more than 30 years, and Mrs.

Gwendolyn Smith, who was 86 on Wednesday.

He also congratulated the organisers of the World Rugby Classic.

Mr. Ottiwell Simmons sent condolences to the families of Mrs. Lillian Estella Simmons and Mr. Reginald Chesterfield Smith, both of whom died recently.

Mrs. Grace Bell congratulated Mrs. Marie Hayward of St. David's, who celebrated her 100th birthday this year. She also congratulated Mr. Ernest Tommy Richardson of St. George's, who recently celebrated 50 years in the Royal Artillery Association of St. George's.

Mr. Leon (Jimmy) Williams congratulated Mr. Cyril Packwood, who recently retired from the Bermuda Library.

Mr. David Dodwell asked that condolences be sent to the family of Mrs. Inez Bernice Quinn of Southampton, who died recently, and to the family of Mr.

Mr. Walter Roberts sent congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Egbert Bascome of Sandys, who recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.

Dr. David Dyer sent condolences to the family of Ms Jean Ann Davis of Devonshire, a hairdresser who died at an early age.

Mr. John Barritt sent condolences to the families of Mr. Albert Victor Soares and Mrs. Constance Barritt, both of whom died recently.

Mr. Moniz thanked Harrington Sound Primary School for its recent reading programme, through which he read to students there. He also thanked MPs for their remarks about his recent marriage.

Community and Cultural Affairs Minister the Hon. Wayne Furbert congratulated Mr. George Bascome, whom he met on Remembrance Day. The 96-year-old was a gunner in the First World War. Mr. Furbert also congratulated the Bermuda seniors who wrote the book Bermuda Recollections.

Dr. Ewart Brown congratulated Boulevard Community Club in recognition of its win on Thursday in the Martonmere Cup final.

Youth and Sport Minister the Hon. Pamela Gordon congratulated the Bermuda Olympic Association for launching a successful bid to host a 1995 Commonwealth Games meeting.
