Dreamcatcher expands fleet

Terry Mahoney: Owner of the five-strong Dreamcatcher rental boat fleet.

Dreamcatcher boat rentals has expanded their fleet this year, and are aiming to expand their market as well.

The boat rental company, which began service last August, is starting this summer season with two additional boats, bringing the total fleet to five. The boats are available to rent for corporate events, educational field trips, or simply a day on the water.

"You get on the boat, you have fun. We take care of the rest," said owner Terry Mahoney.

The business is designed to cater mostly to tourists and contract workers, providing an affordable boat rental for those who cannot afford to purchase a boat of their own.

Starting before the end of June, Deamcatcher hopes to introduce a new 'iTour' option. Customers will be able to download an mp3 from the company site and receive a guided tour of Bermuda, which they can follow at their own pace. While initially there will only be one recording, the company hopes to have more available before the end of the summer.

Dreamcatcher also boasts catering options (featuring sushi from the Harbourfront restaurant), the option of having a hired guide, and a phone on board should trouble arise.

"There is absolutely nothing half so much worth doing as simply messing around on boats," said Mr. Mahoney. "That's the company motto."
