Harness racing again provided plenty of excitement at Vesey Street on Sunday where the crowd was smaller than usual.

A total of 27 trottingbreds raced in 18 heats with driving honours being shared between Bobby DeGraff and Eddie Roque who enjoyed three wins each.

Colby Sousa and Crunchtime remained unbeaten with two more victories while other double winners were Runt's Rocket, driven by Bobby DeGraff, and Shamrock Formal Attire, with Eddie Roque in the sulky.

Colin Mello experienced mixed fortunes with Miss LL Dane. In the first heat she broke stride, trailing the field home. But in her second heat she delighted the crowd with a strong burst of speed on the back stretch, overtaking Tina's Princess to win in 1:13.1.

Melodytime made her first start of the season in the Free for All but the class still only had three entries as Brittany Gold was a late scratch.

Seventeen-year-old Nick DeCosta drove Grand Shady to victory in place of his father Michael while Eddie the Great was second and Melodytime third.

This weekend sees the BEF Fun Show at the Botanical Gardens.

Next race day at Vesey Street is planned for Sunday, December 6 at 1.00 p.m.

Note: An emergency meeting has been called for all members of the DHPC this evening at Inwood Stables in Hamilton Parish, starting at 8.00.
