Ming backs Town to return to winning ways
Dandy Town will look to get their Premier Division title challenge back on track tomorrow when they host Southampton Rangers at St John’s Field.
Town suffered a shock home defeat by Flanagan’s Onions last weekend and will need to return to winning ways against Rangers to reignite their title campaign.
Damon Ming, the Town winger, has backed his side to bounce back against Rangers and hopes their defeat against Onions was nothing more than a minor blip.
“We can’t dwell on the latest game,” he said. “It wasn’t a good result but we now must come out and look to get back on track.
“In order to become champions, you must go through a few obstacles to get to your destination and that’s what we went through last week.
“You have to focus on the task at hand, especially at home where you are expected to win and get the job done.
“We can bounce back but it was a real eye-opener.”
Tomorrow’s game also presents Rangers with a chance to make a real statement with a win on the road.
Rangers are a point behind Town and in the thick of the title picture.
“Rangers have had a good side for a few years now and it doesn’t surprise me that they are where they are in the table,” Ming added. “But we won’t be taking them lightly.”
