PHC's strikers seemed to have finally found their scoring form as they dumped Devonshire Colts out of the FA Cup in a hopelessly one-sided defeat at Southampton Oval.

And striker Kevin Lambe has warned all those remaining in both Friendship and FA Cup competitions yesterday of his side's intent to lift both titles after yesterday's comfortable win.

Lambe, along with strike partner Dennis Russell, Keston Lewis and substitute Quincy Hunt paced the defending FA champions to victory over a Colts side that is wishing the season would hurry up and end. It has been a week to remember for the Warwick side, who had advanced to the finals of the Friendship Trophy after a 120-minute semi-final against Boulevard on Tuesday evening, emerging 3-2 in that match.

"I think that both of these trophies are ours to win, it's just about us putting the heart in and getting the results we need," said Lambe. "This is all we have to look forward to right now so we will focus.

The hosts came out all guns blazing with Cecoy Robinson and Casey Castle being chief threats down the flanks, running defenders ragged throughout the opening stanza. Lewis was first on the sheet for the champions in the 16th minute, after tireless hustle by Robinson down the left flank saw him strip Tarrence Stovell and drove a delicious cross into the box for Lewis to slam home from eight yards. The early dominance continued as Robinson almost scored directly from a corner, only for the defender at the back post to prod the ball away from harm.

Russell then made it 2-0 ten minutes before half time after clever running and a cross by Casey Castle found Robinson back post who sliced his effort back into the area, and found Russell standing alone at the penalty spot to plant his header past Dyke Lawrence.

Soon after the re-start Lambe made it 3-0 and over as a match except for the final score, after Castle again shredded the Colts back line and whipped in a sublime cross for Lambe to put the finishing touches to.

Castle and Robins should have both been on the board but miscues in the crucial touches left more to be desired. Super-sub Hunt came on and soon paid off his coach's faith in him as he struck three minutes from time to round off the scoring, and the champions still holding their hands high after another superb performance.

"We started a little slow today, but as the game went on we got more into our rhythm and that key for us," continued Lambe. "We missed a couple of chances early, but in the end we got goals at crucial points in the match and that was the difference. Winning the trophies we are still in would leave us with the most trophies on the Island this year, so we are still striving for these goals and hopefully we will get the job done.
