Nearly $1 million worth of shares changed hands last week after heavy trading in Bank of Butterfield stock, which pushed the index up five points.

Bank of Butterfield shares closed up 25 cents at $33.25 after trading 26,235 shares.

Belco lost 50 cents to close at $32.00 and KeyTech, the owners of Logic Communications and BTC, gained 25 cents to finish at $10.25.

The price of BF&M shares rose and then fell during the week, trading a large volume - 9,135 shares - closing unchanged at $10.00. Bermuda Commercial Bank Warrants rose by one cent to finish at 11 cents.

The index closed up 5.357 points or 0.23 percent at 2,357.07 on a volume of 40,422 shares worth $990,785.85. No bonds traded.
