Who might buy GoldenEye?

The luxury home at the centre of the court wrangle is said to be the most expensive on the Island?s market, boasting a massive 38,000 feet of floor space and ten bedrooms.

Mr. and Mrs. Marshall said the house ? so-named as it is prime position for viewing the rising and setting sun ? attracted attention from high profile international names before the Government imposed the Draconian policy that prevented them marketing it overseas.

Mrs. Marshall said she had ?no idea? what the asking price would be for the home, which the court heard was at one stage worth $45 million.

?The result puts a good spin on it. It will be back to what it should be. People were a little shy when the court case was going on,? she added.

One of the names consistently linked with the home is that of American TV superstar Oprah Winfrey. However, asked if Oprah?s name was in the frame as a buyer now the Ministry has given overseas applications the green light, Mrs. Marshall said: ?I don?t think so. I think she?s bought down in the Bahamas but we have a lot of other high profile people looking at the house.?

Whoever does end up applying to e the Minister of Home Affairs for permission to buy GoldenEye will find themselves with some very well-known neighbours. New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg, former Italian PM Silvio Berlusconi and former Presidential candidate Ross Perot all live on the same road in Tucker?s Town, nicknamed ?Billionaire?s Row?.
