Banks and deposit companies are taking pro-active stances to help Bermudians and residents who may be facing problems with loans, according to Acting Premier Eugene Cox.
He said yesterday that he had been speaking to the institutions following the events in the US on September 11.
He said: "Banks and deposit companies are in good financial shape. In recent talks with the key executives in this sector, Government was informed that these institutions were adopting a pro-active stance to assist borrowers in working through any difficulties that may arise as an indirect consequence of the September 11 events."
