Man accused of stabbing girlfriend
A man appeared in court yesterday charged with the attempted murder of his girlfriend.
Dressed in black trousers, flip-flops and a black shirt with a skull and crossbones design depicting two swords and the lettering 'Art of War', Jamel Fray did not enter a plea as the charge must be heard in Supreme Court but was remanded in custody until June 2.
Fray, 34, of no fixed abode, is accused of stabbing Kelly Denez Edwards on May 13. The alleged incident is believed to have taken place in Marsh Folly Road, Pembroke, at 2.10 p.m.
Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo, sitting at Plea Court, remanded Fray in custody until his next court appearance.
The defendant was also charged with theft and receiving stolen goods. Fray is accused of stealing a laptop, Playstation, Sony camera, Motorola cell phone and Samsung cell phone from a property in Smith's on February 17. He is also accused of receiving a stolen Motorola cell phone in Warwick on February 18.
Fray, who is unemployed, denies both charges. His trial will take place at Magistrates' Court on September 16.
