Local golfers perform well

place finish and four sixth placings during the two-day Willodell Tournament in Niagara Falls, Ontario on the weekend.

Nick Dunkle, competing in the 12-15 boys, was third in his age group amongst a field of 38 after rounds of 78 and 76 put him on 154, six strokes behind the winner.

In the same age group, Steven Roy was sixth on 156 (82, 74) and Andrew Boyce eighth on 157 (79, 78).

Stephanie Lewis, the only female amongst the 19 youngsters from Bermuda, finished sixth out of 11 girls in the 13-15 age group. She had a two-round score of 189 from rounds of 89 and 90.

Two Bermuda players tied for sixth in the 16-18 age group, with Charles Markey shooting a 75 and 79 for a total of 154 ad Scott Roy carding two rounds of 77 to finish on the same score out of 29 competitors.

The local youngsters are now competing in the three-round Whirlpool Tournament which started in Ontario yesterday.
