Bermuda National Gallery celebrates birthday

March 15 marks the fifteenth anniversary of the Bermuda National Gallery, and a series of events are planned to mark the occasion.

Founding trustee Dr. Charles Zuill and a panel of individuals instrumental in the Gallery's history will lead the way with a lunchtime lecture on March 14 which will take a look at the BNG's past, present and future. The public will also be invited to share their own memories and thoughts. Starting time is 12.30 p.m.

On March 15 the Corporation of Hamilton and the BNG will co-host a special ceremony in Par-la-Ville Park when the 'Par-la-Ville Sculpture Park' will be officially dedicated to the memory of the late John Young, in addition to celebrating the anniversary itself; honouring those who have helped to shape the Gallery along the way; and future collaboration between the Gallery and the Corporation on similar public art-related projects.

On the evening of March 15 well-known local vocalist Gita Blakeney, who is also the Gallery's development director, will host a jazz evening celebrating the 15 years of progress.
