Saturday of Casemates tapes that were used to jail Dexter Dillas in October for his role in a drug smuggling ring.

The newspaper was served with a libel writ and an injunction to stop it from publishing any more from the tape transcripts.

Last night, Mr. Kieron Unwin, lawyer for The Royal Gazette , said the newspaper would fight the suit.

"Having been served with proceedings today, we will be strenuously resisting them and applying to set aside the injunction which was obtained in our absence,'' he said.

"We have published the contents of a document which was filed in the registry of the Supreme Court under the Supreme Court (Records) Act to which every member of the public has access.'' The injunction, which names Royal Gazette editor Mr. David L. White, The Royal Gazette Ltd. and Bermuda Press (Holdings) Ltd., extends to a third transcript which has not yet been published.
