Butterfield shares gain 5.1% in New York

No stocks traded on the Bermuda Stock Exchange as The Royal Gazette/BSX Index closed unchanged at 1,895.52.
The US-listed shares of Butterfield Bank gained $1.38, or 5.14 per cent, to close on $28.24, as 132,006 shares changed hands on the New York Stock Exchange.
The bank last traded at $26.10 on the BSX.
The BSX Insurance Index gained 24.41 points, or 1.68 per cent, to close on 1,478.66.
