The fire was reported at 8.58 p.m. and burned brush on a 100x50-foot vacant lot.
The brush fire was the second of the day. Minutes earlier, trucks from the Port Royal Station and the US Naval Annex responded to a small blaze at Beacon Hill Road in Somerset.
The call came in at 8.55 p.m. but the flames were doused by neighbourhood residents using buckets of water.
On Saturday afternoon, firemen went to a home on Vista Drive near Bailey's Bay. The fire there was caused by a grease pot left on a stove unattended. The resident put out the flames using wet towels.

Vaughn Edwards, of no fixed abode, claimed he did not know his brother, and told the Police officers: "I was just trying to help that guy.'' Yesterday the pair, both aged 20, told Senior Magistrate the Wor. Will Francis they had been drunk and intended hiding the bike as a prank.
"We had no intention of stealing it,'' said Dean Edwards.

He then picked up the cash register, which had to be wrestled away from him.
Continuing to shout abuse, he was arrested and charged with threatening behaviour.
Thompson admitted the offence and had his case adjourned until November 13 for social and psychiatric reports.
"We'd have a very exciting time if everybody objected to prices in Bermuda,'' Magistrate the Wor. John Judge told him.
