Kent Ivan DeShields, of Cobbs Hill Road, was seen racing a friend along Kindley Field Road.

DeShields, appearing in Magistrates' Court, was charged with driving while impaired by alcohol.

Prosecuting, Sgt. Kenrick James said that Police spotted the two motorcyclists weaving in and out of traffic.

DeShields was finally caught on Mullett Bay Road, where he was found to smell of liquor and his eyes were glazed.

Sgt. James said: "He said that he had a couple of elephant beers at a friend's house.'' DeShields was fined $450 and disqualified from driving for 12 months. In another case, Danish incinerator worker Hans Jacob Frieberg was fined $450 and disqualified for 12 months.

Frieberg, 43, was stopped on South Road after Police followed him as he drove erratically on his motorcycle. His blood/alcohol level was found to be more than twice the legal limit.
