Police said an argument broke out between two men when one vehicle blocked the right of way of the other on a road in St. George's.

The two drivers began arguing with each other before continuing their dispute in a nearby supermarket.

A Police spokesman said: "Following an exchange of verbal and obscene insults, the two drivers took their argument into a supermarket and a fight ensued.

"The store manager intervened and the drivers left the store. One of the combatants sustained swelling to his face and reported the assault to the Police.'' The spokesman confirmed that a 29-year-old Southampton man has been arrested in connection with the incident.

Magistrates' Court heard on Wednesday how Harzulla Nesinii, 27, was searched at the Bermuda International Airport after arriving from New Jersey on Monday around 4.45 p.m.

A plastic bag containing 4.9 grammes of the drug was found in his left sneaker.

Nesinii claimed he got the narcotics from his doctor.

Nesinii told Senior Magistrate Will Francis: "I'm sorry, I didn't know it was illegal in this state.'' The Senior Magistrate then asked Nesinii if the drug was illegal in his country and why he had been carrying the drug in his shoe.

"If you had some aspirin that you wanted to bring with you, would you put it in your shoe?'' Mr. Francis asked.

Nesinii replied that he had put the drugs in his sneaker because he was wearing running pants which did not have any pockets.

Jeremy Smith told Senior Magistrate Will Francis on Tuesday that he was taking his younger sister's asthma inhaler to her at school after she had forgotten it, when he was caught.

But Junior Crown counsel Veronica Gordon said there was no mention of the excuse on the ticket written by Police who stopped Smith on Kindley Field Road, St. George's.

The Magistrate allowed Smith, 21, of Coot Pond Lane, St. George's, to keep his auxiliary licence, but banned him from driving motorcycles for two years.

In addition he was fined $500.

Donna Jenkins will leave her position as resident manager at the Princess Hotel in June to take up a job at the Bermuda Aquarium and Zoo.

Mrs. Jenkins, who spent 13 years at the Princess, will become volunteer co-ordinator at the Flatts facility.
