Phoenix division to acquire baby products

The Annex Toys Store, a division of the Phoenix Stores Limited, has entered into a deal to acquire the entire line of baby products and registry services supplied by local retailer, Toys 'N' Stuff.

The Annex Toys Store, a division of the Phoenix Stores Limited, has entered into a deal to acquire the entire line of baby products and registry services supplied by local retailer Toys 'N' Stuff.

Earlier this year Toys 'N' Stuff announced plans to go out of business. The new sales agreement is set to be completed later this month. The Annex Toys Store, in the Phoenix Centre, is a dedicated toy store catering to children of all ages.

With over 3,500 square feet of retail space, it is Bermuda's largest toys store, carrying a full line of popular children's brand names such as Mattel, Fisher Price, Playskool, Leap Frog, Vtech and many more.

"The Annex Toys Store is a well managed retail business with a strong consumer following, high quality product offerings, and good growth prospects," Tina Adderley, head of marketing, Phoenix Stores said.

"We are delighted to have the opportunity to acquire Toys 'N' Stuff's fine line of baby products. The acquisition will diversify The Annex's current product mixes and help fill what would have been a major gap in the local baby's merchandise market."

The new acquisition comes on the heels of plans by the Annex to launch a new baby store in its existing Reid Street location.

The new store, in addition to the newly acquired Toys 'N' Stuff line of products and registry services, will carry an extensive line of baby products from cribs, car seats to feeding accessories. "We are enthused by the prospect of the new line, and are currently undergoing major renovations at our current location to make room for the new retail venture," Deanda Daniels, manager, The Annex Toys Store.

"We're hoping to make the revamped space, the store of choice for mothers to be, and those looking for that perfect baby gift."
