CUTTING A DASH

ith the Easter launch of Suits You, Julie Hendrickson hopes to provide working women in Bermuda with a variety of outfits with a more corporate image.

Ms Hendrickson said Suits You will only offer a limited number of lines in the same style and aims to provide personalised shopping for today?s busy woman.

As opposed to operating out of a store, Suits You will be run from Julie?s St. David?s home.

Customers can either go to her ? or she can go to their homes.

?I started this company because I love shopping and I get all my suits from New York. I can?t walk down the street in Bermuda, without somebody saying, where did you get that suit,? Ms Hendrickson said.

She said the closure of Trimingham?s has left shoppers with limited choices, and there is a need to offer a wide selection of clothes in a range of sizes and exclusive designs.

?The worse thing for a lady is to have someone next to you trying on the same exact thing in the showroom.?

Kasper, Tahari, Nipon and Bill Blass are just a few of the designer brands the company provides.

She said these brands have a corporate appeal for women in the business world but may also appeal to women attending other formal occasions or events.

?I don?t think people dress up enough for work in Bermuda. I would love to see every woman that works in Bermuda dressing in a more corporate way.?

Suits You will also have a line of products appealing to younger women in the workforce, with a more affordable price range.

Ms Hendrickson has extensive experience in the banking sector in the US, mostly in Boston and New York and now works for Argus Financial Limited.

She said she has always had a love for the fashion industry and was encouraged to open her own business by her friend Ivy Kusinga, ACE director of Learning and Development.
