with the first match of the Heineken Bermuda Open at the Tennis Stadium.

The men's A singles draw will feature two of the Island's Davis Cup players -- Michael Way, who is seeded number one for the event, and Donald Evans, the number two seed. Also in the draw is Ricky Mallory, seeded third, a potential member of next year's Davis Cup team. Expected to give all three players a run for their money is fourth seed Gregg Frigerio.

The spotlight will clearly be on Way, defending Heineken champion and the number one ranked player in Bermuda following a spectacular 1994.

There will be a record entry with more than 160 players taking part in the two-week tournament with finals scheduled for May 19 and 20.

Top seeds in the women's A draw are Gill Butterfield and Debra Darrell.

Defending champion Donna Bradshaw, currently residing in the US, and Kim Simmons, who is taking part in a tournament in the US, will not be competing.

In men's B singles, Eugene Simmons is the top seed followed by Kenny Pearman and Ian Chalmers. Marion Ezedemina leads the women's B singles field with Ellen Kelly and Janice Hankey seeded second and third.
