Sir John Plowman keeps contributing
The Sir John Plowman Scholarship - available to full time employees or an immediate child of a full-time employee of the HWP group - was awarded to three students recently.
The scholarship is awarded to students who have shown great academic skill and are pursuing a post secondary degree and this year's winners are HWP team members Clifford Powell, who is pursuing a career in Business Administration and Dion Steede, who is studying Computer Information Systems Technology, and daughter of an HWP team member, Nicole Joell, who is working towards a Pharmaceutical degree.
The scholarship was established to acknowledge Sir John's contribution to the HWP group and the community and current HWP CEO Jonathan Brewin said: "As the former managing director and chairman of the HWP Group, Sir John always encouraged the company's commitment to the community, the youth and education, so this scholarship is a fitting tribute.
"We are delighted that our employees and their children are taking full advantage of this opportunity," said Mr. Brewin.
