Technical problems crash Logic's e-mail system
Logic Communications customers yesterday found themselves cut off from e-mail communications after a technical problem downed the company's e-mail server.
In a press statement the company said its problems, which were said to stem from "technical difficulties" on Logic's mail server platform, began about 10:30 yesterday morning. The net effect was that clients will not have been able to send and receive e-mails on the Logic Communications network.
Logic Communications CEO Jeff Hamill told customers the company was working hard to right the situation, and was already looking at ways to stop the same situation from occurring in future.
"Please be assured that Logic is pursuing further redundancies to help prevent future inconveniences of this nature," he said in the statement.
Redundancies are back-up systems that are put in place to be activated in the event one part of a communications system goes down.
The company said it expected to have the situation resolved within 24 hours. The service was restored by this morning.
