Handbag thief kicks and punches womanA man attacked a 47-year-old woman after she told him she did not have $10 to give him.
The woman was standing on Happy Valley Road in Pembroke on Thursday evening when she was approached by a light brown skinned male.
The man asked the woman for $10 but she said she had no money on her. He then grabbed her brown handbag, but she held on to it. While they were struggling over the bag the man kicked and punched the Warwick woman in her chest, causing her to let go of the bag. The man grabbed it and ran off.
Police arrived on the scene at 9.25 p.m.and the woman was taken to the hospital to treat injuries she sustained, she was later released. Her hand bag contained cash, a CD player and personal items.
She described the suspect as approximately 5ft 11in, of medium build with unkempt facial hair and a scruffy hair style. She said he looked like he was mid 30s and was wearing a dark coloured jacket, |0xbe| length camouflage pants and sneakers at the time of the attack.
Police are appealing for information, please call 295-0011.Laptops stolen from Front Street businessThree laptop computers, a desktop computer and a suitcase were stolen from a Front Street business on Tuesday.
The complainant told Police that some time between 10.30 p.m. on Monday and 7.30 a.m. on Tuesday, someone broke into the premises and stole three silver Compaq laptop computers with 17-inch monitors. The desktop computer was black with a 19-inch flat screen monitor. A keyboard, a mouse and a red Air Canada suitcase were also taken.
