Auditor General retires on August 31 at 31 years on the job
Auditor General Larry Dennis is to retire at the end of August.
Mr. Dennis, who has been in the job for 31 years, has been a controversial figure in recent times and was arrested and spent time in a cell as Police investigated the leaking of files from the Bermuda Housing Corporation.
And Works and Engineering Minister Derrick Burgess questioned Mr. Dennis' motivation and agenda in carrying out an audit into the Hamilton Police/court building affair.
However Mr. Dennis also attracted flak from the United Bermuda Party Government notably for criticising the extra $2 million paid to Sealand Construction for building Westgate.
The Auditor General's job is now being advertised at nearly $179,000 with a start date of September 1.
