In what was an exciting finale to the A.F. Smith Corporate Team Tournament both the main and consolation finals produced much in terms of action, with

Nickers and TTMC Former Size were locked at 4-4 as top guns Tony Prentice and Julian Rose went on court.

An equally close encounter in the plate final featured Phillies and Bank of Bermuda `J', with Phillies squeaking through for a 5-4 triumph.

Trish Ashton gave Phillies a 2-1 lead starting out against Susie Vivian, and Val Protheroe increased that to 4-2 as she showed why they call her `Energiser Bunny' in romping past Dave Eaton 2-1.

With the score standing at 4-2 against, the Bank's Mart Walsh had the daunting task of having to secure three straights against Phil Spencer of Phillies.

Walsh duly sprinted to a 2-0 advantage and the win appeared in the bag.

However, a let ball earned by Spencer in the third game turned the tide and he used the momentum to forge a 15-14 win that gave Phillies the title.

BOWLING BOW Snappers held onto the top spot in the Fishbowl League on the strength of a 4-0 win against Dolphins, led by Ann Mitchell's 546 series, second high on the night.

Porgies stayed in touch with the top as they likewise slammed Barracuda 4-0.

Climbing the ladder were Wahoo, who used a 3-1 triumph over Piranhas to move into third place. David Mello bowled the men's second high game (202) and Lisa Saints the top women's score (232) to offset efforts by Doug Hines (537 series) and Sylvia O'Conner (498 series, 201 game).
