ASW lawyers called to the bar
Attride-Stirling & Woloniecki (ASW) reinsurance lawyers Susie Wakefield and Peter Dunlop have celebrated their call ups to the bar.
The pair from the law firm, which now has the largest reinsurance and commercial disputes practice in Bermuda, both joined ASW in July 2007.
Ms Wakefield, who studied law at the University of Durham in the UK, as well as attending the CPE College of Law in London, the LPC Law School, is a counsel at ASW, specialising in litigation and dispute resolution in reinsurance.
Having been admitted to the bars of England & Wales, New York and US District Court, Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, and a member of the law Society of England & Wales, New York State Bar Association, American Bar Association and International Bar Association, prior to joining ASW, she worked at a number of law firms in London and New York and has experience in representing re/insurers in the Lloyd's and company markets in a range of disputes in arbitrations, federal and state court in new York and the High Court of England & Wales. Her last assignment before joining ASW was at Dewey LeBoeuf in New York.
Mr. Dunlop, who also graduated from the University of Durham and attended the College of Law in Guildford, focuses on re/insurance litigation and arbitration.
He is a member of the Law Society (England) and the International Bar Association, going on to spend nine years at several London city firms (including five years as a senior associate at Lovells) working on re/insurance law. During his time in the role he represented claimants and defendants based in the UK, US, France, Australia and Hong Kong in a variety of disputes, as well as having experience in finite reinsurance and regulatory investigations and undertaking a six-month secondment with General Re in 2005.
Rod Attride-Stirling, senior partner at ASW, moved Ms Wakefield's call, while Jan Woloniecki, head of litigation at ASW, moved Mr. Dunlop's call.
