Golf lovers have the chance of a lifetime next year when To a Tee founder Alex Madeiros leads a C Travel group to the home of golf, St Andrews, in Scotland for two tours. It should be relaxing for everyone. We are going to Scotland first but I am also looking at future tours to Pebble Beach (California) and Spain and Portugal which have some great courses perhaps have different destinations every year. A lot of the courses we will be going to people would have seen on TV during major events.“I am also a member of IAGTO (International Association of Golf Tour Operators) so I have relationships with partners at these various destinations. Those going on the tour will play great courses, stay in great hotels and have really good food. I would like to get those going together in Bermuda before we head out and perhaps play a little golf together here so everyone gets to know each other.”After arriving in Scotland the group will travel to St Andrews and stay at the Rusacks Hotel a four star hotel which overlooks the first tee and 18th green of the Old Course. Those travelling in spring will play St Andrews New Course while the second course will be the famous Old Course. Then the group will play Elie Golf Course and after that it will be the Kingsbarns Course. Those travelling in July will play both of the new and Old Courses at St Andrews and also Duke’s Course along with Kingsbards and before jetting back to Bermuda they will play another destination of the British Open the tough Carnoustie Course which staged the dramatic 1999 open and also which Famed American golfer Walter Hagen described as the best course in Britain. For music lovers C Travel are offering two Smooth Jazz Cruises in January (January 15-22 and January 22-29).Passengers will set sail on the luxury Holland America m/s Westerdam and party nightly while enjoying the finest smooth jazz in the world, led by hosts David Sanborn and Marcus Miller, Jonathan Butler and Gerald Albright.Other artists include Boney James, Rick Braun, Norman Brown, Nick Colionne, Candy Dulfer and Jeff Golub who has many friends from Bermuda as he often would vacation on the Island in the 1980s and 90s and jam with local musicians. The ship will make ports of call in Nassau, St Thomas, St Barths and Half Moon Cay.
