The Royal Gazette/Bermuda Stock Exchange Index gained 9.77 points yesterday to close at 4,334.69.

On a moderate day of trading the only advance saw Butterfield Bank gain 20 cents to close at $55.75 as investors traded in 8,472 shares.

Devonshire Industries traded in 800 shares to remain unchanged at $14.95 and BF&M traded in 1,600 shares to remain unchanged at $17.

Bermuda Container Line also traded in 750 shares to remain unchanged at $14.50 and 5,700 KeyTech shares changed hands to remain unchanged at $12.50.

The total value of the shares bought and sold on the BSX on Thursday was $589,419.00 and the overall volume of shares was 17,322.
