The Royal Gazette/Bermuda Stock Exchange Index gained 9.66 points yesterday to close at 4,372.79.

On a relatively moderate day of trading Butterfield Bank was the issue to advance, gaining 25 cents to close at $55.75 as investors traded in 1,299 shares.

Argus fell 5 cents to close at $14 as 5,600 shares changed hands and Belco fell 10 cents to close at $38.50 on volume of 181 shares.

While no other issues changed price, Bermuda Commercial Bank traded in 100 shares to close unchanged at $8.25 and Kentucky Fried Chicken traded in 100 shares to close unchanged at $6.

Also 500 BF&M shares changed hands to remain unchanged at $17.25 and Keytech traded in 49 shares to close unchanged at $13.

The total value of the shares bought and sold on the BSX yesterday was $168,506.00 and the overall volume of shares was 7,829.
