Stevedoring Services leads BSX advance

The Royal Gazette/Bermuda Stock Exchange Index gained 28.706 points last week to close at 4,401.49.

During an active week of trading Stevedoring Services led the advances, gaining 75 cents to close at $7 on volume of 600 shares.

Argus rose 50 cents to close at $14.50 as 200 shares changed hands and Belco Holdings rose 50 cents to close at $39.

Butterfield Bank gained 25 cents to close at $56 on volume of 31,675 shares, BF&M rose 25 cents to close at $17.50 as 500 shares hands and Bermuda Aviation Services gained five cents to close at $6.30 as investors traded in 169,200 shares.

Masters fell $1 to close at $15 on volume of 100 shares, LOM fell 50 cents to close at $2.40 as investors traded in 23,600 shares and Bermuda Container Line declined 25 cents to close at $13.75 as 300 shares.

Also Bermuda Commercial Bank traded in 13 shares to close unchanged $8.25.

The total value of the shares bought and sold on the BSX last week was $2,992,680.65 and the overall volume of shares was 228,488.
