The Royal Gazette/Bermuda Stock Exchange Index gained 16.447 points last week to close at 4,363.88.

During a moderate week of trading Belco led the advances, gaining 75 cents to close at $39.75 as investors traded in 712 shares to close at $39.75.

Butterfield Bank rose 25 cents to close at $55.75 on volume of 22,228 shares and BF&M rose 25 cents to close at $17.50 as 6,648 shares changed hands.

Meanwhile Bermuda Commercial Bank fell 70 cents to close at $7.55 on volume of 4,300 shares and Bermuda Bakery traded in 500 shares to close unchanged at $55.

The total value of the shares bought and sold on the BSX last week was $1,445,427.60 and the overall volume of shares was 34,450.
