Bank of Butterfield stock pushed up the Royal Gazette/Bermuda Stock Exchange index by nearly half a percent yesterday.

The bank's shares rose 50 cents to $34.50 - just 50 cents shy of Bank of Bermuda stock.

LOM and Bermuda Commercial Bank each closed unchanged at $1.90 and $6.50 respectively.

The index closed up 11.02 points to 2,443.88 on a volume of 14,580 shares worth $180,514. No bonds traded.
