Heavy trading on the BSX
The Royal Gazette/Bermuda Stock Exchange Index yesterday saw $1.65 million worth of shares trade based primarily on the high volume of shares changing hands at the Bank of N.T. Butterfield. Over the day, the Exchange saw its index fall 7.19 points to finish at 2,461.10.
The Bank led trading volume yesterday with 46,205 shares moving and its stock price falling off 50 cents to $34.
Meanwhile, Bermuda Bakery stock fell $5 to $30 and 1,520 shares traded.
In the insurance sector, Argus Insurance gained $1 to close at a price of $21 while 200 shares changed hands. BF&M saw 500 shares trade as its stock price moved up 10 cents to $10.35.
Bermuda Computer Services Ltd. moved up a dollar in trading yesterday, with its stock value finishing at $6 while 1,000 shares traded.
Utility companies Belco and KeyTech also saw action on the BSX yesterday with Belco trading 164 shares and moving up 50 cents to $34.50 per share, while KeyTech Ltd. - the parent company of BTC, BTC Mobility, Logic and part owner of Cablevision - saw its stock fall 50 cents and trading of 1,300 shares.
