C Travel, Bermuda's newest travel agent, will hold its official opening and ribbon cutting ceremony on Saturday, September 8. The cocktail reception will be held in the early evening at the company's new offices in the Bermudiana Arcade on Queen Street.

Overseas Partners Ltd.

The President and CEO of Overseas Partners US Re Ltd, a subsidiary of Bermuda-based OPL - have announced that Douglas Behnke has been appointed executive vice president and head of the new Chicago office area. Mr. Behnke has over 20 years of experience in working in senior underwriting and management positions with the St Paul Companies, and CNA Re.

Aon buys captive manager

Aon Corporation announced that it has entered a definitive agreement with Skandia to acquire Sinser Holding AB (Sinser), the captive management and consulting subsidiary of Skandia. Sinser manages more than 250 captives and insurance entities owned by major industrial and commercial clients, insurance and reinsurance companies. Through its consulting subsidiary Risk & Insurance Research Group (RIRG) it provides global consulting services to the insurance industry and its clients, as well as information services and conferences. As a result of the acquisition, Sinser will combine with Aon International Risk Management Group (AIRMIG). This combined business will operate in three business areas under the global name of AIRMG.

Aon Insurance Managers (AIM) will be the captive management arm and be responsible for more than 1,000 clients in 29 captive locations. As the leading global captive management company, AIM will be responsible for insurance companies with premium volume of $8 billion and assets of $45 billion.

The consulting business will combine to form a global leader in risk financing, risk management and related advice for corporations and strategic planning, marketing and business development support to the insurance industry, financial services centres and financial institutions. This business will operate under the name of International Risk Management Group. Alan Cossar, Executive Director of AIM for Bermuda and the Caribbean said: "This acquisition gives AIM access to a superb management team and and expanded client base to the benefit of all our clients and offering more growth opportunities to our staff. In particular our operations in continental Europe are significantly strengthened further consolidating our position as the leading insurance management company in the world."
